📖 How to Play
Four Circles is a colorful guessing game! A secret code of 4 colors is hidden. You have 10 tries to guess the code by picking colors and getting clues after each guess.
- 🎯 Goal: Crack the secret 4-color code in 10 guesses or fewer.
- 🎨 Pick: Tap colors from the palette to build your guess.
- ✅ Green dot: right color, right spot.
- 🟡 Yellow dot: right color, wrong spot.
- ⚪ Gray dot: color is not in the code.
Short version: Four Circles is a free browser game. We don't make accounts, don't take your email, and don't sell anything. We use Google Analytics for anonymous traffic stats. That's it.
1. Who we are
Four Circles is a free color-code puzzle game made by an independent developer.
2. What we collect
- Anonymous usage data via Google Analytics 4. When you visit, GA4 records things like page views, in-game events (start, win, lose), approximate location at country level, and your device/browser type. It does not include your name, email, or precise location.
- Local-only data in your browser. Your daily streak, stats (wins, losses, best time), and settings (colorblind mode, sound on/off) are saved in your browser's localStorage. This stays on your device and is never sent to us.
3. What we do NOT collect
- No account info — there's no signup or login.
- No email address.
- No precise location (GA4 uses country-level only).
- No contacts, photos, microphone, or camera access.
- No health, fitness, or biometric data.
- No payment info — the game is free and there are no in-app purchases or ads.
4. How we use the data
- To make the game better (figure out what's working and what isn't).
- To understand how much traffic the site gets and where it comes from.
5. How we share the data
We don't sell your data and we don't share it with advertisers. The only third party involved is Google, who processes the anonymous Google Analytics data on our behalf under their own privacy terms. You can read those at policies.google.com/privacy.
6. Cookies and similar tech
Google Analytics uses cookies to count unique visits. If you'd rather not be counted, you can:
- Block cookies for this site in your browser settings, or
- Install Google's official opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Your in-game stats do not require cookies.
7. Children's privacy
Four Circles is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since we don't ask for names, emails, or accounts, there usually isn't any personal info to collect in the first place.
8. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA basics)
You have the right to access your data, ask us to delete it, or opt out of analytics.
- Clear your local data: open your browser settings and clear site data for fourcircles.app, or use your browser's "Clear browsing data" tool. This wipes your streak, stats, and settings.
- GA4 requests: for anything related to Google Analytics data, use the GA4 opt-out add-on linked above.
9. Data retention
- localStorage data on your device stays until you clear it.
- GA4 retains anonymous analytics data per Google's default retention settings.
10. International users
The game is hosted in the United States, and your data may be processed there. By using Four Circles, you understand that your anonymous usage data may travel to and be processed in the US.
11. Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we'll change the effective date at the top of the page. For meaningful changes, we'll do our best to highlight them so it's easy to spot what's new.
